The process is as follows all domains but periods may differ
1. The domain will expire
2. The domain will go through the Pending Suspension and Pending Deletion Phases
3. After the Pending Deletion phase is over, the domain enters the Closed Redemption Phase
4. In the Closed Redemption Phase a domain can be reinstated at the cost of the Closed Redemption Fee
5. If a domain is not reinstated in the Closed Redemption Phase, it will be deleted at the end of the phase
The life of a co.za domain is as follows:
1 to 5 days after the domain expires the domain goes into a Pending Suspension Status.
6 to 10 days after the domain expires the domain goes into the Domain Suspension Status.

30 days after the domain expires the domain stays in Expiry Deletion for 30 days.
After the above 30 days the domain is then available to the public to register the domain name.
